East Coast Native, Al Sharp drops his latest project “The Voice of the Unheard” for awaiting fans

Al Sharp was born in “The Bronx’ and grew up listening to music. It was to no surprise that he would decide to pursue music. In junior high school, he begins songwriting. While his talent continues to increase, so did his connections with like-minded individuals in music. It wasn’t until he linked with Inf Dot and a longtime friend Fingaz to form the collective, “Reign of Terror” for the opportunity to record. Soon after, he decides to get behind the boards and begin music production. At that point, the “Reign of Terror” sound is established.

With help from a friend, Al Sharp is inspired to record an album produced entirely by himself. The album “Strength in Numbers: Compilation Vol. 1.” gave the people an introduction to Al Sharp-The Artist and Producer. Due to great responses, he goes on to record the next project, “Fist Born: The Beginning.” Additionally, he lends his production hand to various aspiring artists. Sharp moved to California where he continues to create music and produce for artists.

In 2018, Al Sharp releases his album “Audio Narcotic.” He gains years of experience with benefits to work with seasoned vets and younger artists. Together in 2020, they construct a solid body of work titled “The Voice of the Unheard.” This is Al Sharp’s 6th solo album. Finally, the years spent polishing his skill-set will be heard. Louisiana Pop Artist, Sk8way 10thousand drops his new single “First Date”

Sk8way 10thousand, a very creative and out of the box type of character, is from a small place you’ve probably never heard of called Tallulah, Louisiana. In his hometown, he is known as “The humble Kidd,” a nickname given by everyone. He was born December 23, 1997, in Vicksburg Mississippi, and is the middle child of 4 siblings. Multi-Talented Hip-Hop Artist, Stephon Broadway delivers his latest single “Game 7”

Stephon Broadway has been involved in theatre and performance art since a youngster. He got an early start with a local theatre program. He credits much of his discipline and creative drive to the program steering him toward something positive. Throughout Stephon’s tenure with the program and under the guidance of world-renowned Broadway Director Alan Weeks, he would study Poetry, Writing, Rap, and Native Drumming. Stephon attended and entertained countless engagements from exhibit openings, to ribbon cuttings and after school programs.

Another personal influence is an indie legend and music business coach- Bad Seed. He learned a lot from Seed; being a vet and signed to a major with the Big 3 at the time. Over time, Seed would introduce Stephon to the untold stories of his favorite era in Hip-Hop, often dubbed “The Golden Era.”

Stephon built an early following with his unique, lyrical ability and rap cadence. Being from a smaller town and limited to the resources it could provide, he began hustling. Luckily, soon after, with the support of local radio Hot 99.1, his single “Get The Bag” would gain enough to momentum to beat out the previously held record at the station and win song of the week for 8 weeks. “Get the Bag” charted Top 100 with Urban Radio.

As time goes on, with the guidance of community leaders and activists; Stephon organized many talented artists from Albany, NY, and abroad for the city’s first Hip Hop and creative arts festival. To be elected as the festival talent scout and Creative Director was a pivotal point for Stephon in his musical career.

Later, with a big push from his family and friends, Stephon would finance a unique Art gallery in his hometown. The Gallery hosts a collaboration of Fine Art and Street Art. This was inspired and imagined after attending some shows styled by Swiss Beats and Dame Dash who he credits as Hip-Hop pioneers to the scene.

The Gallery hosted many young artists and rising talent within the city and abroad. Empire Gala- located in the quintessential Lark Street area- would have its opening reception for hundreds and includes all of his family, friends, and supporters.

Following a great response and with success to the pop-up, things began to shift, and almost overnight what he remembered as a child began to reimagine. He is humbly reminded of its impact and contribution throughout the city scene.

New York Hip-Hop Artist Dapo focuses on winning with the release of his latest EP, “KING II”

North Babylon native, Dylan Daponte, or “Dapo” is a 20-year-old hip hop artist. Dapo grew up with his divorced mother and father but his mother mostly took care of him. When Dapo was in middle school, he chooses to take up rap music as a hobby. Although his mother wasn’t a huge Rap or Hip-Hop fan, Dapo couldn’t be any more different from influences like Eminem, Kanye West, Akon, and J. Cole. The young Dapo began writing lyrics but never shared his accomplishments with anyone including his close friends. His friends encourage him to take his writing and music more seriously. Shortly after, he decides to release his first song. According to almost everybody, it was an epic fail. Dapo was clowned-made fun of-counted out-even by most of his friends-who encouraged him in the first place. After the debut single backlash, Dapo chooses to focus on his music full-time. He loves the craft so much that he begins to lose sleep and stops hanging out with friends.

About two years later, Dapo completes and releases his first real project titled “King.” In 2018, he felt that he had to prove that he is a contender in the Hip-Hop world. Every conversation that he had, he explained why he belonged for 50 minutes and being the best at it. Miraculously, people started to believe in him more after seeing that he still had life in him. Recently, Dapo announces his label “Raw Music Entertainment.” The label features artists such as King Cxge, Logan, Merc, Hief-just to name a few. After another 2 years of countless singles, two projects, and countless days working-he releases the second installment of his now-signature album series “King II”. ‘The Weekly Beat’ reviewed ” King II” saying “from start to finish, the album is energizing and captivating”. “King II” currently has done almost 25,000 streams across all platforms.

Lately, Dapo always seems to have a chip on his shoulder due to being counted out so early by so many. He continues to try and remind people that he belongs in this music game, even after being told by his peers, he was great.
