Ras Ceylon delivers “Chamber Szn” from his newly-released album “To Srv The Ppl” 

Ras Ceylon is a Sri Lankan-American recording artist from Oakland, California. He has been bringing uplifting messages to the masses for over 20 years, releasing 5 solo albums to date and appearing on multiple projects with notable Rap and Reggae artists. He works closely with Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. Black Panther Party Cubs and is a member of Sizzla Kalonji’s Judgment Yard fam. Ras Ceylon’s latest single “Chamber Szn” amasses over 2100 streams since the album’(“To Srv The Ppl”) was released on December 16th. The track features Solomon Childs and Timbo King and is produced by DJ Just Jay. The trio delivers strong messages and the hook “ Chamber Szn, It all happens for a reason” is catchy with a purpose.

Ras Ceylon has spent over two decades relentlessly organizing his community, providing them with the tools to rise above oppression, and being a voice of the voiceless through his music and activism. “To Srv The Ppl” (To Serve The People) is Ras Ceylon’s first full-length solo release in 10 years (7th album overall), recorded entirely in 2022. The 13-track album embodies thought-provoking and politically charged subject matter that revolves around freedom, family, spirituality, and revolutionary change. The album’s artwork depicts Ras Ceylon’s involvement in the “Justice For Oscar Grant Movement” of 2009-2010. This picture was taken at a march when Oscar Grant’s killer, Johannes Mehserle, was released after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and serving just 11 months in county jail.

Ras’s socially conscious lyrical imagery is a masterful fusion of hip hop, roots reggae, and dancehall blending straightforward bars of struggle with insightful metaphysical wisdom floating over exquisitely curated soundscapes provided by well-rounded beatsmiths including Dawit Justice, DJ Just Jay, Kinetic 9 (Killarmy), and Dr. Edward Love.

Midwest Artist Deryk Evons delivers his latest single “Troubles”

Born in La Grange, IL, Deryk Evons is an artist with a unique perspective on his sound and vision. King Savy, the independent rapper from Milwaukee is back in the spotlight. Southern Artist, Golden captures his listeners with his single “Golden- Zone”

The underground artist named Golden is from Birmingham Alabama with a Toronto-based sound. Coming from poverty with an absent father and mother, he grows up moving between Chicago, Atlanta, and his native land. Never spending much time anywhere hinders him from establishing real relationships. Most life events pertaining to his relocations are short term and translates into his relationships now. He has never been able to give any lady, all he can, in fear that it will all just up and disappear when he gets comfortable. 

GOLDENGolden has very few friends due to causing much trouble in his younger life. In pursuit of respect, he wouldn’t get due to wearing the same clothes and never having money or anything his peers had, which he turned to violence to do so. He thought, if they wouldn’t respect him, they would fear him. Due to abusive siblings and poor parenting, his emotional trauma has bled into his adult life. Trusting no one and very few people in his reclusive circle numb him to desire any relationship with anyone and even still distrusting his closest friends with the deep truth that everyone is temporary. Creative expression has been the only permanent force he has known to have never left him. Chicago native, Energe teams up with Ray Illa on his latest single, “Two Twelve”

Energe embraces his habit of morphing into a recluse because it is in this creative space that his distractions are few and vibes are plentiful.

As a bi-coastal performer, Energe dominates the stages with his captivating tunes in past captivating tunes in past performances such as sharing the stage with Big K.R.I.T to winning 2nd place at SXSWʼs 2013 Coast2Coast. Energeʼs style of performance is refreshingly engaging and intimate. He is no stranger to weaving his way throughout his crowds sending many of his fans into a tizzy with his fluidity as a rapper-singer.

To date, his crowd favorites such as “High Note”, “I Get It”, and “Answer The Phone” pushes fans to want more from the artist In 2017, Energe has strategic plans to continue igniting The rhythmic flames with weekly releases. All while working on an album he also plans to release this year.

Energe describes his new work as “a gap-bridger”. Not sure exactly what he has in store but his fans cannot wait! It will be the feature for his summer tour and the focal point of his thought-provoking visuals
